Our Approach
The archive exists to be used
Owning a classic yacht means inheriting questions that the original designer could answer and almost no one else can. What were the intended sail dimensions? What timber was specified for the planking? When was the keel changed, and from what?
For Mylne-designed yachts, many of those questions have answers — in the archive. We can locate the relevant drawings and records, interpret them, and help owners make better decisions about their yachts as a result.

What we offer
Original Drawing Retrieval
We hold original construction drawings for the great majority of Mylne designs. If you own a Mylne yacht, we can identify the relevant plans and supply high-resolution copies — lines plans, sail plans, construction drawings, and accommodation layouts as available.
Historical Research
Provenance, build history, original owner, racing records, and subsequent ownership where documented. We can often trace a yacht's history from the first commission letter to the present day, drawing on archive correspondence, press records, and register entries.
Technical Interpretation
Original plans are not always straightforward to read. We can help owners and their yards understand what the drawings show — construction methods, material specifications, scantlings, and what was standard practice at the time of building.
Specialist Introductions
We can introduce owners to surveyors, riggers, sailmakers, and craftsmen who work regularly with classic yachts and understand what they require. We do not take commissions from any parties we introduce.
