Our Approach
Built right, or not at all
Building or restoring a classic yacht is a serious undertaking. The difference between a yacht that sails well for another fifty years and one that doesn't often comes down to decisions made early — about yard selection, specification, and how faithfully the original design is interpreted.
We hold the original construction drawings for the majority of Mylne designs. For restoration projects, those drawings are the starting point — not an approximation of what the yacht should look like, but a precise record of what was actually intended.
What we offer
New Builds
Building a new vessel from an original Mylne design — or a new design inspired by one — requires yards that understand what they are working with. We can provide the drawings, the specification, and introductions to builders with the right experience.
Classic Restoration
Returning a Mylne yacht to sailing condition is work that demands care, knowledge of the original, and appropriate materials. We can source original drawings from the archive, advise on construction methods, and introduce owners to yards experienced in classic work.
Refit & Modernisation
Some owners wish to update a classic yacht without compromising what makes it worth owning. We can advise on what can be changed without damage to the design — and what should not be changed at all.
Builder Introductions
We maintain relationships with yards and individual craftsmen who understand the demands of classic construction. We can make introductions, help owners evaluate proposals, and advise on what a project should reasonably cost.

The drawings are still there — for most of them
For any Mylne restoration, we recommend starting with the archive. Original construction drawings answer questions that no amount of measuring an existing hull will resolve.
